Wooden Spoon Cakes is a cafe, specialty cakes and catering business that recently expanded into the wholesale confectionery market.

The brief was to develop a range of packaging for their latest creation, the Mud Cake Finger bar, including wrapper and point of sale display, to appeal to the gourmet and specialty foods market.

In keeping with the brand, Brown Ink developed a design with a retro theme. Taking inspiration from the past the flavours were presented as illustrations rather than photographs, combined with doily inspired decorative border and mud cake dark brown background.

The result is a premium looking product that communicates the back to basics ethos of the business, that would be equally be at home in a fine food shop or supermarket isle.
