Sometimes you receive briefs that start with the objectives less about the design and more about practical matters. This project was exactly that, the brief was to create a portable display that was big enough to grab attention.  Able to promote a number of projects from a variety of the Brickworks brands. The finished display design should be easy to set up and light to carry and oh, by the way we need it to be completed and delivered to Cairns in a week.

Exhibition and display projects require a wealth of knowledge across a number of design disciplines.  This project included the following disciplines, display structure design, material choice, display manufacture, product holder design and manufacture, artwork design and printing, safe transport, installation and video presentation. The materials alone included, MDF, composite panel, stainless steel, castor wheels, packing material, banner mounts, polypropylene and matt laminate.

This proved to be a very challenging project, the displays were designed and built in Victoria, they were flat packed and then shipped to Sydney ready for installation. When we arrived the lift they said would carry our laminate sheets up to the second floor without any problems, was in-fact way too small. We spent almost four hours carrying the entire project up two flight of stairs which had a very tight u-turn after the first flight.
